Hi Patrick,
it's actually pretty common to want to filter in a CRS other than the data
native one, even if
the source data has uniform CRS. Think javascript based clients, maybe with
no desire
to carry around the proj4js, displaying in google mercator and in need to
get vector
data from WFS without having to think about its native SRS.
The full WFS usage with OGC filter allows for that, ask for anything
intersecting a polygon expressed
in web mercator, ask the output to be also reprojected in web mercator, and
maybe then
even do a transaction that way... we fully support this workflow, but if
one wants to use CQL
for filtering, then he/she's out of luck
