Thanks for the pointers. I saw the ResourceConfigurationPanelInfo class, but
didn’t see the others.
If I add a new tab, will the overall save method check the new tab
implementation for validity before doing the final save?

Hi Chris,
the edit layer page is actually assembled at runtime from a variety
of plugins, there are panels that can go into the first two tabs,
and then you can plug-in as many extra tabs as you want.
I don't remember about a guide, but if you feel venturing into the code of the
"web"
modules check the hierarchy of PublishedEditTabPanelInfo and
LayerEditTabPanelInfo for tabs
(both implementation and registration in the Spring context), and
LayerConfigurationPanelInfo
and ResourceConfigurationPanelInfo for plugins plugging in the first two panels

that I am currently returning a hard-coded list during a createTypeNames call
that has different names indicating the various parameters coded in. I’d like
to allow the basic grid type to be chosen and have the “Edit Layer” screen
allow the administrator to set the specific parameters for the exposed layer.
