I understand that – this still seems like a mismatch of versions. I can’t say
I’ve tried it lately, but I recall needing to use nightly base geoserver (+
geotools) with community extensions in the past. Or build from source, of
course.

GeoFence and authkey are community modules built only along the nightly, so
SNAPSHOT is all one can get.

checking your geoserver and extensions match exactly.
