Hi,
there is really no such a thing as a general set of indications for
hardware requirements, it depends too much
on how big are your data, how well optimized the data sources, how heavy
the stiles, if you're using tile caching or not...
Let's put it this way, if you check around with a search engine the are
presentations about running GeoServer on
a Raspberry Pi, so that's doable, even if quite slow.
The CPU you're mentioning does not seem so bad, but I guess the NAS runs
mostly on it so it will be kept busy by other activities too:

Also check carefully this presentation, it's meant for larger production
environments, but I guess that running on
limited hardware makes optimizations even more important:
