I don't see a clean way to do it dynamically either, at least not in the styles parameter, maybe in some other new parameter that would map the soemthing like groupName:layerName->newStyle, but again, would seem like a hack to me. Ideally, one could modify the layer group configuration to have multiple named styles, each one associated to a different list of styles for the layers. Not a trivial thing to implement, but at least somehow consistent with the WMS model. Do you know of any other WMS that allows dynamic re-assignment of styles to a layer group?
