Hi Nikola,
As a guess, if your setup is doing any proxying, you may need to
configure the Proxy Base URL.
https://geoserver-pdf.readthedocs.io/en/stable/webadmin/server/globalsettings.html#global-setting-fields
If that doesn't do it, as Brad suggested, you may need to provide some
more details.

Once installed on the server, the layer preview does not work. CORS
has been set up, everything is there, but Geoserver cannot render the
icon images. Specifically, nothing appears in the layer preview or the
style preview. And furthermore, when one selects a new layer to add a
symbol to, an icon is missing from options, only a "broken link" image
appears.
