Dear Advisory Committee Representative, W3C has been working jointly with the Open Geospatial Consortium in the Spatial Data on the Web WG [1]. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) formalizes the relationship under which that Working Group is producing joint standards under W3C Process and OGC's. The Working Group is due to complete its work in June this year, producing a number of Recommendations and Notes that are designed to help integrate traditional geospatial information systems with the Web. See the MoU: https://www.w3.org/Consortium/Legal/2017/W3C-OGC-MOU.pdf It is our intention to send the MoU to Steve Crumb, Executive Director of GENIVI, on Monday, 17 February 2016. We are making it available for AC Review per section 9 of the Process Document [2]: > The W3C Director may negotiate and sign a Memorandum of Understanding > (MoU) with another organization. Before signing the MoU, the Team must > inform the Advisory Committee of the intent to sign and make the MoU > available for Advisory Committee review; the Advisory Committee > representatives may initiate an Advisory Committee Appeal of the decision > to sign the MoU. Once approved, a Memorandum of Understanding should be > made public. According to the process, there is a three week period during which Members may appeal [3] against the signing of the MoU. If you have any comments or concerns about this MoU, please write to Phil Archer <[email protected]>.
