How small is 'reasonably small?'  I think the referencing package should
be as small as possible, so that users can easily include in any apps,
including applets.  I don't know this stuff too well, but would users
ever want like just a portion of the auto factory?  Like only want to
support a few projections, and since they don't need the extras would
leave them out to keep their download small?
