So far we have a number of geotools people as foundation members:
- Chris Holmes
- David Blasby
- Ian Turton
- James MacGill
- Jody Garnett
- Justin DeOlivera
There are also some friends on the list, it would be fun to nominate
Cameron Shorter as our representative ;-) No real idea what a geotools
representative would
do, both Chris Holmes and Myself are going to sit on the incubation
committee to babysit the IP check. I am keeping tabs on the web
committee to and expect
a day confluence work out of the deal.
The GeoTools representative would basically be responsible for keeping
up with the emails on the incubator list, and helping to guide the
community through the IP review and community review. I am definitely
on the incubator committee, but would actually prefer that someone else
represent GeoTools in the incubation process. There will be one rep
from each of the initial 7 projects. To some extent the incubator is
going to be defined how these projects go through it, setting the bar
for future foundation process.
