I think I missed this category. I'd like to find it so I can deep six that
swashbuckling freeloader of an issue (GEOT-564). I do like the way
categories are laid out, though!

Ummm...when _I_ say "JTS geometry", I mean an ISO 19107 geometry
implementation backed by JTS. I do not mean creating another SFSQL
implementation. Is this what you mean as well?
Actually, GeoTools delegates all SFSQL geometry problems to JTS, and there
is no module in GeoAPI to supply any client/provider isolation for SFSQL.
Ergo, GeoTools currently has _no_ geometry module/implementation. As far
as I know, the chances of us ending up with an SFSQL geometry module are
slim to none: JTS does it for us. That's why the new module attached to
GEOT-414 can commandeer "geometry" instead of making a new category. If
I'm wrong on this point, ye should nail me to the mainmast and feed me guts
to the ship's goat sooner rather than later. ;)
The problem we _are_ going to find is that we will probably want to support
more than one implementation of the 19107 GeoAPI interfaces. Martin and I
have already been talking with a master's student who's interested in doing
a from-scratch implementation of a small corner of 19107. At that time, we
may need to split "core geometry" into "core geometry jts" and "core
geometry sanjay", should he choose to donate his code and should we choose
to accept it.
