I fixed http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOT-869 (not sure it is the page you were talking about). Of course you are welcolme to try the standard Maven 2 layout on ext/mappane. However, because our non-standard structure is defined in the parent pom.xml and inherited by all Geotools modules, I though that it may be easier and less disruptive to change the directory structure for the whole project at once, and then just remove the custom setting in the parent pom.xml (the Maven 2 default would be used).
