You're not understanding me. All the example you pointed me at show
the same sins as our FeatureCollection. In 4 years of Hibernate I've
never used their iteration/scroll support.
I'm not questioning the details, I'm questioning the design.
I would not like to use FeatureCollection even if it had all the details
set right. With FeatureReader I know what I'm doing, I'm reading, and I
know I'm doing I/O. With FeatureWriter it's the same, I know I'm writing.
With FeatureCollectin.iterator() I really don't know, it can throw
unexpected exception, it may be that I'm writing or not depending on
how I got the collection (which depends on how I got the feature source,
which depends also on the datastore capabilities, and I don't have ways
to tell what the heck that collection is capable of), finally I have to 
change the way I'm using collections because FeatureCollection is not a 
normal collection.

Even with all details right, it would not be a success to me, because
it just tries to hide reality, and I prefer to see things as they are.
