Ah, another one having issues with Java on Gentoo.
Have you installed your jdk from portage? Justin was having problems
with that jdk too and solved it by installing an official jdk from
Sun.
We've experienced problems in the past with Blackdown jdk wich is the
default one on Gentoo, so we're always using sun-JDK now.
