I kind of view answer user email and having user documentation as on the same level. But we have considerable work to be done before I worry about this.... For GeoTools 2.4 I am asking for a *single* page of user documentation and conformance (if a test can be provided).
The fact that the WFS module is a DataStore and does not introduce any new API should make this task easier. The hard part is that WFS is very dependent on servers implementing the specification exactly. If I was module maintainer I would make a wiki page out of what worked and what does not work in order to cut down on email. The other hard thing is that the WFS datastore does not support the latest specification - it would be worthwhile making sure the error message in this case was very clear.
