Hey Jody,

I'm willing to help although calling myself a mentor is probably
overselling my knowledge and skills. If you give us the names of the
poor souls we could keep an eye out for their mails to the list and try
to respond especially promptly to their requests. 

Call it the 'geotools collective alternate mentor'
