It was planned since a long time - I'm also on the JSR-275 mailing list. But we 
need to:

1) First, switch GeoAPI to JSR-275.

2) Next, refactor GeoTools in order to get it compiling
    (some class name changed).

3) Finally, change some code logic. The way JSR-275 computes Converter is
    the opposite of the way JSR-108 did (can't give more details right now;
    would need to go back to the API). Both way are legitimate, they are
    just two different point of views.

So this is on my stack with "svn cleanup" and "module renaming". Not sure in 
which order I will do all those.
