I think as a PMC we have to decide whether GeoTools should implement only the OGC standards, which was the initial mission, or limit ourselves to use Sun ones as well. Personally I'm ok with following the OGC ones, not as much in being coaxed into whatever Sun is deciding, the real attraction of Java to me has never been Sun, but the open source community around Java, so my reference and inspiration are the successfull open source projects such as Hibernate, Spring, JODA, JScience and so on.
