Hello Simone

Back on internet, I will try to give more details.

For now, I have nothing more detailled than: try to get referencing done for the
OGC meeting in december. At this point, create a mercurial clone for the port to
Java 5. A script would remove all annotations (no matter if JAXB-related or not,
for example @Override. Removing the later will introduce compiler warnings, but
it is not an issue for me since the real development branch would be the Java 6
one for us). On the mercurial clone, create a org.geotools.internal.future
package. Put in this package skeleton of Java 6 methods that are used, for
example Arrays.copyOf. Again a script would replace all occurences of
Arrays.copyOf(...) by org.geotools.internal.future.Arrays.copyOf(...).

Referencing in december. Coverage next but I can't give more accurate timeline
for now.

No more development on my side except some selected bug fixes and preserving
compatibility with GeoAPI. This is not a real change compared to the situation
we had for the last year. I have commited very few patches in the last year
since I was more busy on postgrid and coverageio module.

Yes they are goal we had for years. All those goals except the last one are on
my todo list when I will start the coverage module after referencing. But given
how late I have always been, if I were commiting for a timeline on those goals
now I would surely been unable to meet them. The only timeline that seems
realist for now is referencing in december.
