I'd like to add the Maven "module" structure for my unsupported GPX2 module to the GeoTools SVN. My eventual goal is to get it included in the Geotools build. I've been building things from my own SVN, but that isn't much like a good community player. I figure it is time to learn how to play by the Geotools rules. :]
I read over the section of the developer guide that talks about setting up a module today. I was about to start setting up the Maven folder structure on the SVN when I realized we are in the middle of the transition to the OSGeo infrastructure. Would this be a bad time to set up my module in the SVN? Should I wait until the transition is over? I also had a couple of questions about the module set-up. This page of the developer guide: http://docs.codehaus.org/display/GEOT/5.3+Module+Directory+Structure does not mention the "unsupported" category. However, based on the structure of the existing SVN, I'm guessing this is the category for my GPX2 module. So the path to my module would look like this: modules/unsupported/gpx2 Is that correct? Also, do I set up the content of the POM xml file, or is that automatically generated by Maven? Is there a standard review.apt file for code released under the LGPL? As you can see, I'm rather lazy and in the need of a good Maven tutorial. :] Please bear with me as I move from my simple Eclipse/Ant system to something more complicated like Maven. :] Landon P.S. - If I set up my module layout and zip it up, would someone be willing to take a quick look at it before I try to commit it to SVN? I want to make sure I get it correct. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SF.Net email is Sponsored by MIX09, March 18-20, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
