Hi Michael, I only now realize you are talking about a mapcalculator for raster maps.
In the old JGrass version I had a very not performat (but doing its job well, with everything in it, novalues and conditions and so on...) mapcalculator based on the jep maths parser project, which at that time was released undder GPL or similar. Now that I ported the GRASS format to gridcoverage, I am planning to have that tool back. I already did some tests with the last available jep version and it is not usable. I would be very interested in cooperation for this. Would you be willing to do an IRC meeting to share your ideas about that project? I could bring up some time soon to work on that.
