Mmm... I like the concept, but if it was agreed to add Swing classes to the render module, I wonder if it wouldn't be much better to mine the code that johann wrote. Everytime I look at that stuff (which is not often I must admit) I shudder at the amount of work that went into the design and hacking, only to be discarded and left so sadly undocumented. Even without having ever studied it properly I'm certain that it contains more useful resources than my crudely modified (gutted) mappane code.
