There is the also the referencing, metadata, widgets-swing, coverageio,
coverageio-netcdf, coverageio-hdf, openoffice, epsg-hsql and epsg-extension
modules. There is 106 JIRA tasks that are still assigned to me. I was the most
ancient contributor still active and the author of more than 20% of GeoTools
"physical source line of code" (according sloccount - not counting comments).
To
the above list we can add the widgets-swing-pending module written by Johan and
the temporal module written by Medhi. All those modules will probably need to
find new maintainers or be deleted, at your choice.
All the above modules, including coverage, will be developped in geotoolkit in
the future. GeoTools may choose to replace some of their modules by
dependencies
to geotoolkit if they wish. The advantage would be to get the enhancements and
bug fixes done in the last 9 months, as well as future developments -
especially
for the referencing module. The inconvenients would be the requirement to
update
geotools code, the need to port geotoolkit to Java 5 and the effort required
for
testing the "geotools + geotoolkit" assembly.
