I think I need to clarify the AuScope situation: some deployments are 
using local builds with patches to allow encoding of types that stock 
xsd-gml3 cannot encode. Most deployments are using the mainstream build.

Rob A has spent a great deal of time investigating the underlying 
architectural problem. I have not yet had time to review Rob's proposed 
changes. Now that the roadshows are over, I look forward to negotiating 
with my management to raise the priority of this issue.
