We would like to add a new GT-JAI-Tools module on Unsupported Land.
Michael Bedward, Simone Giannecchini, Andrea Antonello and me, we are
working on a jai-tools project ([1]) which basically contains
*"Image operators and other extensions for the Java Advanced Imaging (JAI)
library <http://code.google.com/p/jai-tools/>*".
As you know, the coverage module has an
org.geotools.coverage.processing.operation and org.geotools.image.jai
packages which already contain geotools wrappers for several JAI operations.
While preparing a jai-tools stable release, we would like to setup a
GT-JAI-Tools module (based on the jai-tools 1.0-SNAPSHOT release available
on a sonatype maven repo) to test and expose, as an instance, the ZonalStats
(Zonal statistics) Operation.

If anyone can give me a +1, I would like to commit the module on
2.6.x/unsupported.
