Good point, and yeah that makes sense. Or we could turn it into a generic geometry collection. I guess i prefer the latter if we can get away with it. So I would be +1 on the change as long as it is (a) on trunk only and (b) does not break wfs cite tests.



Okay, this is the way I did it and I included it in the patch. I assumed the whole thing will only be applied to trunk, seeing as it makes some fundamental changes.

Everything has been tested with CITE, and works fine.

The patch has been uploaded to http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOT-3219
(There is one for geoserver and one for geotools, the geoserver one only contains a unit test! the real meat is in the geotools patch.)

Please have a look for approval.
