I have kicked it out of the release; as it starts downloading 8.0-SNAPSHOTS 
(when I am building a 8.0-M4 release). 

I assume you are getting that as a dependency from geogit? Next time we do this 
we will need to follow the get the SNAPSHOT dependencies out of the build step; 
and ask geogit to make a tag.

I did not see any SNAPSHOT dependencies in the root pom.xml dependency 
management section. Please be sure to register any dependencies there as it 
gives us an easy way to hunt this stuff down during release.
