Communication has been fairly minimal on this one; in part because we do not
have resources to set up an OpenJDK build server at this time.

However I will pass on the following:
- they have migrated to OpenJDK 6 (the default for unbentu ) and are willing to
migrate to OpenJDK 7 if that makes our life easier
- Initial testing shows some failures and incompatibilities; was not able to
determine the specific via email
- OSGeo SAC does have plans to set up a Jenkins for building; however it not
scheduled to land within the required timeframe
- I have not really paid attention to the required timeframe :-) Anyone else
know ...

My advice for the live-demo project thus far is to try things out; and to
reject any application that does not pass their QA review. As an example uDig
1.2.2 currently fails.

This is an example of my most recent communication:

Q: If the live-demo project adopts OpenJDK 7 is it going to be any easier for
us?

Aside: A download an OpenJDK 7 for mac now which will allow more developers to
test.

Q: Did the recent discussion of build boxes result any any possibility of
setting up a Jenkins against OpenJDK?
