Hi all,

I'm looking at the (unsupported) jdbc-ingres driver...

https://github.com/geotools/geotools/tree/master/modules/unsupported/jdbc-ng/jdbc-ingres/src/main/java/org/geotools/data/ingres

... and hoping to help it along into a more supported status, so I've been
going through the dev checklists to see what's needed and this is my
"communicate early" attempt ;-) We'll be spending a bit more time on this in
the new year, but obviously we (Actian corp) can't do it well in isolation.

Here are my thoughts so far, I'd love your feedback on how to best
manage/improve it all...

* It looks like we've got some headers in place, need to add to all files.
* Learning my way around Jira - I don't see any blockers on that front.
* I'll volunteer to be a project maintainer, to at least proxy and test any
changes where necessary and to help make sure it's on our list to keep updated.
* I'm just digging into test procedures at this point to see if they are all
running okay and not blocking builds. We'll give them a look internally here,
but welcome another set of eyes to try to build it out.
* It doesn't seem to break my builds and I'm able to use it, more or less, in
GeoServer. Currently also testing Geomajas and have uDig on my list next.

Thanks for any thoughts and comments!
Best wishes for your new year,

Tyler
