Ah, speaking of test procedures, I see there is a pull request for an
improvement against the ingres module here:
https://github.com/geotools/geotools/pull/97

As long as you are the maintainer of the module you can merge changes as
you see fit, of course, provided that
you respect the minimum code coverage requirements (which right this moment
I don't remember...), however
the "custom" (not a rule at the moment) is that no patch comes in without a
test.

The rationale is that GeoTools is being developed by several different
developers, and there is a certain turn
over in the years, a solid net of tests is a must to keep the library in
one piece over time
