My thought was that we (Geocent) would defer to the other plugin and leave our
pull request closed.

I think GeoTools having two different NetCDF plugins would be confusing to
GeoTools users. Also, sounds like we (Geocent) can do better in future to
communicate what we are working on that we hope to contribute.

Thank you,

Thank you Jody,

This was based on the idea that Yancy and I would maintain our GeoTools
unsupported module for NetCDF reader. The pull request to add the reader
(https://github.com/geotools/geotools/pull/166) is now closed as there is
another more mainstream NetCDF reader.

Yep, there's another one. So... what do we do?
I'm afraid the two code basis are pretty different (btw, we started coding the
current NetCDF reader almost one year ago when the GeoCent one
simply seemed gone for good)... trying to merge them now would be a large
effort.

At the same time, we cannot have two gt-netcdf plugins (not with the same name).
Suggestions on how to move forward?

Cheers
Andrea
