Not entirely sure if I need to take further action. This is to fix the
inability to set session-startup SQL in geoserver for an Oracle data store.
The root of the problem was a connection-unwrapping issue in the OracleDialect
class.
The new pull request is https://github.com/geotools/geotools/pull/1059. This
requests a back-port of the code changes in the
https://github.com/geotools/geotools/pull/991 request which has now been
applied to the master branch.
I also found that some of the Oracle online tests fail on both the master
branch and 14.x without my changes applied. I opened JIRA ticket
https://osgeo-org.atlassian.net/browse/GEOT-5317 related to this. I checked
that my junit changes execute successfully but am unable to find the time to
debug into these existing problem deeper right now as I'm in the closing days
of a big release cycle. While the tests don't run cleanly, my changes
apparently don't introduce new problems and the specific test I impacted
(OracleConnectionLifecycleOnlineTest) works without error.
