Okay. The main change in process will be that if anyone wants to upload artifacts locally they will have to register their SSH key with Osgeo, but the WebDAV process required something similar, so this shouldn't be too much trouble.
I'll look into what changes need to be made on the maven side. Assuming no one else has any objections, I'll see if I can get this working for the next release.
