Think it is obvious you just want to add a new unsupported module; no design docs are really needed to add a datastore. With that in mind let me take your email as a request for commit access to setup a new unsupported module. +1 Please keep in mind you are working on the live codebase and don't break the build :) We set things up this way to encourage participation in the project, glad you could join us.
