For first part, I would be glad to commit changes. But how can I get an
account to commit using subversion?
For grouping option, I know that I can set option on or off. But let's
do an example:
I have two layers, one for municipalities and one for province. In Italy
both municipalities and province take name from chief town.
So, for the place where I live there's two labels, both named Udine.
Grouping option is useful, because with it geotools doesn't shows
province label twice. And for same reason, I enable group option for
municipalities. The problem is that geotools shows only label Udine for
either province or municipality. Not both, of course, position of
province label doesn't correspond to municipality one.
This is due to the fact that map for grouped labels is the same.
So, my question (for everybody in this mailing list) is:
Couldn't be useful if there is an option to specify a group name? Such
as only labels with same group will be grouped together.
I think that it can be done only modifying LabelCacheDefault class.
Suppose that group option could be 'yes', 'no', or a group name.
With yes and no, behaviour is the actual one. With group name,
LabelCacheDeafult uses a specific map for that group.
What do you think about that?
Bye,
Manuele.

Last instruction in method end() is, correctly, labelCache.clear().
But there is no labelCacheNonGrouped.clear().
Thats a bug -- could you add that in and commit the change?
(You only get this bug if you are re-using the renderer)
You can turn grouping on-and-off in different layers -- just set the
grouping option in the appropriate TextSymbolizer.
