Hi Catherine, Broadband coverage below the country or state level can be pretty tricky to find and a lot of it is sold for fee. Some of the work we did at Univ of Flroida was spun out into a company called Geo-tel which sells data on municipal fiber and lit buildings which tells part of the story:
http://www.geo-tel.com/products_metrofiber.cfm MapInfo used to sell data on cable broadband but I can't find it on their site anymore. Been a while since I was into this. You can also find data through Connected Nation: http://www.connectednation.com/mapping/state_maps.php They have data for four states but it is locked up behind the same ESRI ArcIMS implementations and does not include FL. We have some broadband data in GeoCommons: http://finder.geocommons.com/searches?query=broadband http://finder.geocommons.com/searches?query=cable http://finder.geocommons.com/searches?query=telecommunications There is quite good data for Vermont and made a few maps with it: http://maker.geocommons.com/maps/5757 (DSL coverage) http://maker.geocommons.com/maps/5759 (Cable modem lines - huge detailed file so a bit slow to load) I'd guess the Florida state GIS center has something similar that could be accessed with a FOIA request.
