from the W3C Linked Data public WG:

This should be of interest to both geowanking and PPGIS communities:

"What has been missing is a map and directory of our network that includes the resources for communication and cooperation; in essence, an infrastructure through which to coordinate our efforts. WiserEarth provides this infrastructure. It provides a way for us to become better connected and more effective at working together."

Hello all

In case you missed this, WiserEarth [1] is opening its API [2] and proposes a conf call for developers tomorrow June 11 at 10am PDT (19h00 Paris time)

The WiserEarth data base is mainly an index of more than 111,000 organizations (NGOs and business) working in the fields of environment, peace, social justice, sustainable development, education and the like the world over. More data about events, jobs, solutions (and people).

On the radar of WiserEarth in opening its API is of course the perspective to see their data enter the LOD cloud, so watch this space, or jump in to help.
