Fantastic idea. I appreciate that you're making this technology accessible
and fun. YEAH remote sensing image processing. Hooray for multispectral
image interpretation!

Subject: [Geowanking] an open source "LANDSAT" camera in your hand?

Thought folks who are familiar with balloon mapping

open hardware project out of the Public Lab community, leveraging remote
sensing technology in a local, community-based context:

"A simple, cheap infrared camera which can measure plant health -- for geek
gardeners, farmers, and open source DIY scientists."

It basically images photosynthesis with some filter trickiness and post
processing, building on satellite-based earth-observation imaging
techniques.
