Jody Using a uDIG as a base for the project is a idea that had not occurred to me, as I was not aware there was a CE port in the works. Adding a Geodetic/Surveyor's module as plugin could be worthwhile. I will recommend that NCGS/NGS take you up on that offer of further advice.
