Right--that's what I meant...

I'm thinking that if I can get post process out of a gps, why pay for
accuracy in the device? I don't need real-time processing as I'm collecting
a lot of point data in urban areas (which compounds the real time problem).

The more I think about it, the less sense it makes to purchase an expensive
device if it's possible to get the data out in a dgps-able format, as it can
always be 'fixed in the mix.'

Thoughts?

You can't post-process NMEA. You need RINEX, which you can sorta get out
of an eTrex using the Async program:

Or are you looking for one to do real-time DGPS with a RTCM beacon?

Or better yet, what's your budget and what kind of accuracy are you
willing to pay for?

The Yellow Garmin eTrex is your best bet, I think. It's the cheapest
unit that still has a cable connector. You'll have to purchase the cable
separately.

Greetings

This is my first post (I'm so excited!)

I went to a great GPS workshop in NYC this week and now know just enough
to be dangerous...

Does anybody know what is the lowest price GPS device with NMEA (to
allow for post DGPS)?

thanks
