Cameron,

Yes I had seen it on the MB roadmap and will follow your work closely.

It also looks like GMaps v2 is more accurate than v1 (in my lon/lat region).

Except for transparent WMS overlays (which seems easy as well) I've upgraded GeoTracing yesterday. Was not as hard as I thought since the v2-API is more open towards custom tiling. The other hack I use is "tlabel" http://gmaps.tommangan.us/tlabel.html for positional overlaying of any <div>, e.g. the moving tracers. Most of the code was not mine but work by others I adapted (e.g. for feature collision). I've assembled everything in a single .js file: http://www.geotracing.com/gt/script/gmap-v2.js (still a bit messy and createWMSOverlaySpec() still needs fixing). Feel free to use it, but I guess you are somewhat deeper into this stuff.

best,

Just,
I'm currently incorporating a Google Maps layer into Mapbuilder and so I'm working on WMS/Gmap integration issues that you are probably striking.

Feel free to discuss any issues you get stuck with.

Hi,

Probably some of you already noticed: Google Maps now offers detailed maps/arial pics for much of the EU (at least for The Netherlands). See e.g.
http://www.geoskating.com/gmap/gmap.html

Only works with v2 of the API (I have to work hard getting all of my v1-hacks evolved) but that's a matter of time, see e.g. http://chignik.berkeley.edu/google/wmstest236.html for a WMS overlay (hmm: without caching a tiling engine makes a WMS suffocating).

best,
