Thanks for the comments on OGC, JSON etc. Points taken.
My main concern is seeing that OS projects do not drop support for OGC standards as this will be one of the key ways that we can get organisations to look seriously at Open Source spatial projects. I see that this is not happening (with the projects discussed on this thread) and that is encouraging. Chris, thanks for the comments and link to versioning with WFS. This is a very welcome (and critical) development. I'll follow up on this later.
