Goki,

There are quite a few varieties of GPS units on the market - but in
attempting to interpret your question, by 'XY coordinates', do you just mean
basic geodetic longitude and latitude - or do you need it to provide x/y or
easting/northing coordinates on a national or regional grid? Do you need
sub-meter or survey grade equipment, or just a basic consumer grade unit?

Is there any other potential long-term value to your department which could
be served by having additional functionalities, such as GIS mapping?

Best Regards,

Dave Smith

Subject: [Geowanking] Enquiry for basic GPS

Dear friends,

I am based in Geography Department, University Malaya, Malaysia. My research
group is in the midst of doing research on basic GPS

I am looking for a GPS receiver which show XY coordinate only, nothing else.

Do anyone know where to get it?

goki
