Assistant or Associate Professor of International Environment and Resource
Policy

The Fletcher School, established in 1933 as the first graduate school of
international affairs in the United States, seeks to fill a full-time, tenure
track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in International
Environment and Resource Policy beginning in September 2013. The Fletcher
School’s faculty is multidisciplinary with an emphasis on international affairs
and the global perspective. We prepare Master’s and Doctoral students to use
environmental science, policy, economic, business and legal insights to address
global and international challenges in the field of natural resources and the
environment.

The new faculty member will be a member of the Center for International
Environment and Resource Policy (CIERP), which is home to a multidisciplinary
group of faculty, students and post-doctoral research fellows and visiting
scholars. CIERP currently clusters its research within four research programs:
(1) Energy, climate, and innovation; (2) Agriculture, forests, and
biodiversity; (3) Water and oceans; (4) Sustainable development diplomacy and
governance.

Special consideration will be given to candidates withresearch interests in
freshwater resources, agriculture, forestry, or oceans; environmental policy in
developing countries and emerging market economies; or international
sustainable development diplomacy and governance. Discipline is open, but we
encourage candidates who thrive in a multidisciplinary environment and are
familiar with the scientific, technical, policy, and social sciencedimensions
of their area. Prior experience as a post-doctoral fellow, in teaching and
research, and/or in professional positions will be given preference. The
applicant is expected to start a funded research program.

Review of applications will begin by Nov 15, 2012, and will continue until the
position is filled. Applicants should send their curriculum vitae, any
supporting materials including representative publications, and three letters
of reference to: [email protected].

The Fletcher School is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer and the
administration, faculty, and student body are committed to attracting talented
candidates from groups presently underrepresented on campus.
