WILLIAMS COLLEGE

Visiting Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies

The Program in Environmental Studies at Williams College invites applications
for a full-time, one-year visiting assistant professor position in
environmental studies, beginning July 1, 2014. Candidates with training in
environmental politics/policy (domestic or international) and relevant fields
in the social sciences (geography, economics, environmental management, urban
studies, natural resources management, political science, public policy) are
encouraged to apply. Full-time visitors teach five courses over two semesters.
In addition to three intermediate and advanced courses in environmental policy
broadly defined, the visitor will teach an interdisciplinary introduction to
environmental studies (ENVI 101) and an advanced course in US environmental
policy and politics (ENVI 309). Williams is an institution that places a high
value on undergraduate teaching; consequently, we strongly prefer applicants
who can demonstrate a capacity for excellent teaching as well as scholarship. A
PhD at time of appointment is strongly preferred, but ABD candidates will be
considered.

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, but all
applications received by January 27, 2014 will be guaranteed full
consideration. Please submit cover letter, curriculum vitae, a two-page
statement of research project and teaching interests, and three letters of
reference using this Interfolio link: apply.interfolio.com/23620

Inquiries may be sent to [email protected]. All offers of employment are
contingent upon completion of a background check. Further information is
available at:
