*Journal of Environmental Studies and Sciences** (Springer)* Call for Papers for a special issue on ‘Public Engagement for Environmental Sustainability in a Technological Age’
*Guest Editors:* Priya Kurian & Debashish Munshi, The University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand Email addresses: [email protected]; [email protected] *DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS EXTENDED TO 31 AUGUST 2014* Rapidly-evolving developments in new and emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, transgenics, cloning, and synthetic biology, to name a few, are changing the fundamentals of the environment we live in. Yet public engagement on new technologies remains limited even as governments and decision-making authorities are increasingly turning to technological innovations both for economic productivity and for solutions to stem systematic environmental destruction. This special issue calls for a set of interdisciplinary research articles on ways to transform public engagement for environmental sustainability in a technological age. Authors will explore and reflect on theoretical insights, innovative methodologies, and/or practical implications of research on transforming public engagement on new and emerging technologies. Accepted articles will sit alongside invited commentaries on the theme by leading thinkers in the field. The guest editors invite conceptual or empirical research articles of about 6,000 words on any aspect of the broad theme of the special issue. The articles will need to be submitted via the online manuscript submission system link on the journal’s website: https://www.editorialmanager.com/esas/ . *Please state on the article cover page as well as on the online submission form that your paper is for the special issue on "Public Engagement for Environmental Sustainability in a Technological Age" edited by Priya Kurian and Debashish Munshi.* *Deadline for submission of full papers: 31 August 2014* -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "gep-ed" group.
