Dear colleagues,

let me briefly summarize my findings regarding an internet-based PD game for teaching purposes:

1. collection of games by Charles Holt: http://veconlab.econ.virginia.edu/mg2/mg2.php The PD game was not exactly tuned to the purpose, but could be easily tweaked to do so by announcing who matches up with whom - and then being replayed.

2. Tragedy of the Commons game by Ron Mitchell:http://rmitchel.uoregon.edu/commons (please read the instructions and allow for a bit of lead time).

The hands-on version from Saddleback College that I used in the past is regrettably not available any more from their webpage.

Interestingly enough, it takes some time for all students to integrate with the WLAN environment although they all have edu-roam access.

In general, the interactive game was very much appreciated by the students besides the more scholastic paper on the conditions when PDs are useful in the analysis of international relations.

Best wishes,
      Detlef Sprinz

Dear colleagues,

I would like to replace my paper-and-pencil version of the iterated prisoner's dilemma game for classroom use at the MA level with an interactive, internet-based version.

While there are many options available, I actually would like to connect to specific students, using instructor-designed variety of informational status (know the opposite side/don't know; can communicate with the other side;cannot communicate, etc.). Topical affinity with environmental policy would be a welcome bonus.

Would you know of a source on the WWW or an app for major platforms?

Best regards,
      Detlef
