Special Issue: Environmental Governance in Asia

Guest Editors:

Wanxin Li
Associate Professor, Department of Public Policy, City University of Hong Kong

Jose A. Puppim de Oliveira

Theme:
In the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Paris Climate
Agreement, this special issue will discuss the drivers and mechanisms to
collectively govern environmental pollution and carbon reduction in Asia.
Sustainability solutions are realized via technological, social, and
institutional innovations that are complementary to each other. Contributions
will examine successful stories as well as challenges encountered in searching
for sustainability solutions across different geo-political and administrative
levels. Furthermore, we welcome contributions adopting one or more of the
following approaches incorporating economic, institutional, legal, and
technical analysis in understanding mechanisms and processes of governing and
managing changes in a multi-level governance regime in Asia. The issue will
particularly gather experiences in Asia that can provide lessons to other
