Dear colleagues,

I'm coordinating lead author along with Oscar Widerberg for the upcoming
2018 UNEP Emissions Gap Report, which will include a chapter on* Bridging
the Gap: Non-state and Subnational Action (NSA)*. This chapter will build
on new studies and publications that assess NSA contributions to climate
change mitigation and adaptation, and will be released in time to feed into
the Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco on 12-14 September 2018.

The chapter will address questions including:

· *What is the potential contribution of NSA to enhancing the
ambition of NDCs and bridging the 2030 emissions gap?*

· *What is known about the potential contribution by region, type of
actions, type of actors, etc.?*

· *Can NSA be scaled up and if so, how?*

· *What are the key methodological challenges for assessing the
potential contribution of NSA and how they can they be addressed?*

· *Are NSAs delivering on their potential contribution to bridge the
2030 emissions gap?*

We are eager for your help in identifying research that could be included
in this chapter. The chapter can include and cite both grey and academic
literature, so long as it will be available by the time of publication, or
has been accepted for publication. Please send any published or pending
work to Amy Weinfurter ([email protected]) by May 18. Or, if you will
be attending the UNFCCC SB48 meeting in Bonn, Germany Oscar Widerberg
(cc-ed here) will be available May 7-8 to meet.

Best regards,

Angel
