Just how to connect social science to problem solving is a great topic, especially when we know that social movements are often part of complex processes that sometimes can unleash transformative policy change – but not always in purely predictive ways.
In this regard, I have been involved in a number of collaborative reflexive efforts recently that ponder whether scholarly communities, including political science and even professional environment schools, may not only be useful for helping ameliorate environmental problems, but might have, inadvertently, contributed to them.
