We seek candidates with a PhD in Public Policy, Political Science, Decision Science, Economics, Law, or a related field. We are interested in candidates at the Associate or senior Assistant level who apply rigorous policy-analytic tools to natural resource and environmental issues. We are particularly interested in a person who is well grounded in the institutional aspects of policy analysis (law, politics, and current developments). Expertise in quantitative methods and an ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment are desirable. Finally, given our school’s mission, work applied to ocean and coastal resources and/or climate change is expected to be part of the candidate’s research portfolio. The person we hire is expected to publish in scholarly journals, raise research funds, teach courses in his/her field, engage in research with high policy relevance, and contribute to the mission of the University. SMSP offers graduate degrees in Marine Policy, Marine Biosciences, Oceanography, and Physical Ocean Science & Engineering and an undergraduate major in Marine Science. SMSP also has affiliation with the Water Science & Policy Program at the University. SMSP has campuses in Newark and Lewes. Most faculty members have joint appoints in other departments. Review of applications will begin on December 3, 2019. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications. A start-up package will be provided.
